Conmate

Planning a hospital visit for a parent when you live in another city

A checklist for the OPD day, what a companion can and cannot do, and how to stay in the loop from far away.

If you live in Pune or Dubai and your father has a cardiology follow-up in Indore, the day itself is the hard part. Here is what helps.

The night before

  • Put all old reports in one folder, newest on top.
  • Write down the current medicines with doses. A photo of the strips works.
  • Book the companion for an hour longer than you think. OPD queues run late.

On the day

A Conmate medical-support companion meets your parent at home or at the hospital gate, helps with registration and billing counters, sits through the wait and gets them home. You can follow the session with live location and get a visit note at the end.

What a companion does not do

They do not give medical advice, speak to the doctor on your behalf unless your parent asks, or handle cash beyond small amounts you agree in advance.
